Introduction to Programming

Tuesdays and Thursdays 3.15pm to 5.15pm

Term-time only

On Tuesdays at Te Tūhunga Rau, and Thursdays at Raukawa Community Centre.

Free after school sessions for 9 to 12 year olds, provided by Tūhura Tech.

Focused on an introduction to programming using Scratch (online block based programming language made by MIT). Loan laptops available if needed. No programming experience is needed.

We will go through basics all the way through to complex topics in Scratch in preparation to move on to text based programming languages and students will build a variety of games and animations.

Who is Tūhura Tech? Our mission is to provide free technology education to children in the Wellington region. We believe that every child should have the opportunity to learn about and engage with technology, regardless of their background or financial situation.
